Ventilation System Maintenance Near Me in Cornelius, OR

Annual ventilation system maintenance in Cornelius, OR keeps fresh air flowing and the heat or energy recovery working as designed. A neglected HRV/ERV loses ventilation effectiveness and recovery efficiency, undoing the reasons it was installed in the first place.

A standard ventilation maintenance visit includes cleaning or replacing the intake and exhaust filters, washing the heat-exchange core (most are removable for cleaning), inspecting and cleaning the outdoor intake and exhaust hoods, clearing the condensate drain, testing the airflow at supply and exhaust points, checking the defrost cycle on cold-climate units, verifying the controls and timers are working, and lubricating motors where applicable.

The heat-exchange core maintenance is the item most often skipped on DIY service. A clean core transfers heat or energy at rated efficiency. A dust-clogged core loses effectiveness gradually and never recovers without proper cleaning. Most cores are designed for periodic washing with mild detergent and clean water.

For Cornelius, OR homes running their ventilation continuously, twice-yearly maintenance is worth considering — typically a full service in spring and a filter change in fall. For systems that run intermittently or on lower duty cycles, annual maintenance handles it.

Some HRV/ERV manufacturers include the maintenance schedule in the warranty terms — meaning skipped maintenance can void warranty coverage on motors, controls, or the heat-exchange core. A documented annual service protects that warranty.
